Although formed earlier, the Toronto Schutzhund Club (TSC) was officially recognized as a registered not-for-profit organization in August of 1992. We are active supporters of and are dedicated to the Schutzhund sport. Enthusiasm, dedication and training methods have proven the TSC to be one of the most successful clubs in Ontario with multiple titles and awards earned by past and present members. We are very proud of our accomplishments: BH - 47 SchH A - 1 SchH 1 - 28 SchH 2 - 24 SchH 3 - 32 IPO 1 - 4 IPO 3 - 2 AD - 15 FH - 1 TR's - 7 19 Ontario Regional competitors 10 GSSCC National competitors 1 World Championship Competitor Hosting 3 Regional Championships, a German Shepherd Schutzhund Club of Canada National Championship and the first stand alone Show for Ontario as a Region
As a
club we train extensively - aiming for our dogs and handlers to compete
at their highest levels possible. The foundation work (obedience) in
training is key to success. Basic components coupled with developed prey
drive form the foundation on which we build. Ensuring a strong foundation
means achieving success in all 3 phases - Tracking, Obedience and
Protection. We rely on the help of fellow members
as spotters to progress our training. It's a team effort throughout. We
regularly host and attend training seminars with top trainers/handlers
to continue our learning. Our
15 acre club grounds are fully equipped with a clubhouse and washroom
facilities. We are located at 12825 Leslie Street, 1 kilometer north of
the Stouffville Sideroad (just west of Highway 404). Look for the sign with our logo
at the end of the driveway. Visitors are always welcome. Click here for
a map to the grounds. We train
on Tuesday and Thursday nights (starting at approximately 5:30 pm) and
Sundays (starting with Tracking north of the city in Georgina at 8:00 am) - RAIN or SHINE. The field is also equipped
with lighting for evening training. Indoor training starts in December
and runs until the end of March depending on the weather. Members are
expected to train at least twice a week. While we have high expectations
of all our members and their dogs we also believe that it should be a
fun and rewarding experience so the social aspects of training together
make it even more worthwhile.
